tretch film, also known as wrapping film or heat shrink film, was initially produced in China using PVC as the base material and DOA as both the plasticizer and the source of self-adhesion. However, due to environmental concerns, high costs (PVC is heavier than PE, thus providing less packaging area per unit), and poor stretchability, it began to be gradually phased out when domestic production of PE stretch film started in 1994-1995. Initially, EVA was used as the self-adhesive material for PE stretch film, but this was expensive and had an odor. Later developments used PIB and VLDPE as self-adhesive materials, with LLDPE, including C4, C6, C8, and metallocene PE (MPE), serving as the base material.
